Our food bank donations will be gathered on Sunday 9th December. The latest "Food bank buddy e-mail" from Anne is as follows for information:-
Good afternoon, everyone.
As I type, the sun is shining and a beautiful rainbow has appeared in the sky. The rain recently has been relentless and I am sure we are all totally fed up of trying to get washing dry and getting youngsters back and forth from school without getting soaked.
Yesterday, our café was busy as per usual. It is lovely to see so many folks come together to enjoy fellowship and chat. We are so blessed.
Our recent donations have been amazing. We have great support from local churches and individuals. We are extremely grateful for that continued and growing support. It means such a lot to know that people are becoming aware of us and what we do.
In the run-up to Christmas, we will become busier. We are again having a Community Lunch in the Parish Church Hall on Christmas Day following the success of last year. There will be a full Christmas Lunch, entertainment and a visit from Santa. It will be a great opportunity for folks who may well be on their own to have some company and enjoy the festivities.
At Christmas, we like to give out some "luxury" items, such as tins of salmon and ham. At present, we also require donations of Stock Cubes, Sugar and Marmalade. WE ALSO REQUEST DONATION OF VOUCHERS from CRUNCHY CARROT, BAKERY AND PETER WHITECROSS BUTCHERS.
WE DO NOT REQUIRE DONATIONS OF ADVENT CALENDARS, SELECTION BOXES, PASTA, NAPPIES, BEANS NOR SOUP.
We have a soup and baking rota if anyone would like to volunteer to be added on. It is not onerous, just once every 6/7 weeks to supply soup or baking for our café. Let me know as the new rota will be made up soon.
Our sincere thank for your continued support in giving and praying.
God bless you all.
