On the second Sunday of each month, Spott Parish Church donates food items to our local Food Bank which is organised within Dunbar Parish Church hall by Margaret Croft and Anne Creedican. Each month, Anne sends us a Food Band Buddy e-mail that gives us news about Food Bank matters and also suggests some items that would help replenish some deficiencies in their current stock items.

Below is a copy of Anne's latest FB Buddy e-mail.

Good afternoon, everyone. The rain appears to have stopped and it is now not such a dreich day. Gosh, our weather

keeps us all guessing these days.....

We had a quieter day than we were expecting at Basics Bank yesterday. Some of our regular visitors were missing. However, it gives us a chance to do stock checks and have more time for those folks who are around.

We are continually grateful to all the volunteers who make soup for us and bake for us. One of regular visitors didn't

realise we had a rota to cover soup and baking. Where they thought it was coming from is anyone's guess, but it is so appreciated by all.

We were delighted to have an extra visitor yesterday and a new collection tub is on its way to Belhaven Parish Church.

That means that most of the local churches have a collection tub. Dunbar Parish Church, St Anne's, Our Lady of the Waves, Belhaven Parish Church and Spott Church. We are also supported well from Pencaitland Parish Church.

Certain items are still missing from our shelves.

WE NEED TINS OF CHILLI CON CARNE (is there a shortage right now?), TINNED HAM, TINNED FRUIT, CUSTARD AND RICE PUDDING.

PLEASE, NO MORE BEANS OR SOUP......

We continue to value all your support. A tin in the bin, a prayer or a message to a friend. We need you all to help us continue with our support to those folks who are struggling right now. Our association with The Ridge continues to flourish and together, we can make a difference. Believe me, it is a great job you are all doing.

Blessings to you all,

Anne
