National Giving Day - Sunday 31st October 2021
Message from Brian C Hilsley
I am glad to be able to write to you in support of The National Giving Day which, in Spott, has been set for Sunday 31st October 2021. This is an initiative of the General Assembly and every congregation is being asked to support it sometime in October. All the money raised in Spott will go to supplement the ordinary, ongoing income of the congregation.
Church finances across Scotland have been badly hit by Covid and the hope is that members will find it possible to give a little bit more to help us through this setback. Envelopes are being distributed and will also be available on the day. Simply put these into the plate at the door, post it to the Treasurer, or, if necessary, ask your elder to collect your donation from your home. This can happen between now and 31st October.Alternatively, the Spott Church website also has a secure On-Line Giving Portal, sponsored by the Church of Scotland, for those who wish to donate in that way.
I fully appreciate that most households are currently “feeling the pinch” as prices rise. However, every little helps and your gift will offer not just a boost to finances but an encouragement to us all.
Yours in Christ Jesus
Interim Moderator and Locum Minister
